jsp page

In jsp first time some data is to retreived from the database and when u update to the database.next page when u access the same page the updated data should be displayed

OK, so what's the issue?

in jsp
when you acess some page suppose a.jsp
one string for example required is to be displayed.
when u click submit button the values are updated to the database.
up to this ok.
when u access the same page the updated value is to be displayed.
i have done this,but i have used another jsp file.but i want with the same jsp file. i have used sessions,but unable to do it

Where is the problem. If you can do it with other jsp page then why not with the same jsp. What are you getting, while doing with same jsp page?

when iam accessiong the same jsp the updated data is not comming.
only the previous data is comming.if you want i shall send the code

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
