I have already known using cookie to store a bit of textual information in the client's machine. However, is it possible for me to store the whole OBJECT in cookie ? an object can be a book object or a arraylist of book and so on. Thank you very much for your reading and waiting for your replies. Thank you !

No, a cookie is nothing more than a small textual string stored by the browser. We (Java Developers), generally accomplish this by binding the object to session on the server.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
