Hello all.

I would like to display the date of the last modification I did to the jsp on the resulting HTML page. I have tried it with Javascript's doucment.lastModified property but it doesn't work as I hoped. It always shows the current date, probably because the HTML page is generated new with each request.
Do you know a way how I can display the jsp's last modification date without hard-coding it (i.e. writing it in the jsp or a properties file or a database and so forth)?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Thomas

If your using CVS, it has keyword expansion that can do this.
I imagine most other version control tools have similar features.

I don't know of anything in the JSP spec for doing this.

Thank you Ben, that's an awesome idea! I am using CVS indeed but I didn't know much more than how to commit and update. Your solution should work just fine.
