Hi all,

I am trying to write a chat system using applets. From the login page if the user name and the password is correct the user is send to the page with the chat applet. To validate the user I am using jsp. The page with chat applet is also a jsp page.
Now my question is
From inside the jsp code I connect it database and check the user
And if he if a valid user he is send to the next page and I am sending his username as parameters to the next page
I found 2 ways to do this
Send redirect and jsp:forward
I cant use redirect because then the parameters I send can be seen on the address bar
1. can I hide this

If I use jsp:forward in side the jsp tags (<%...%> the code is not working
If I put the jsp:forwared out side the jsp tags (<%...%> it also give error

How can I solve this
If some one has a working code it will be a big help
Thank you.
