This thread talks about the .jspa file extension.

HTTPS is an extension of the HTTP protocol which encrypts everything that is sent (the "S" is for Secure). HTTP sends everything in cleartext, which is not appropriate for sensitive content like personal or financial information.

Thanks a Lot

But how do we use this https protocol. I mean to use http simply call any page (html, jsp, php, asp, aspx etc) in a server we only have to put http at the beginning (http://www.sun.com)
So like wise how we use this https.
Simply replace http with https?
Or is there some coding we have to do
Or some configurations at the server
Or normal servers (tomcat, apache, iis) cant do this
Or are there special versions of above servers or other servers to handle https

And for what we use this

HTTP sends everything in cleartext, which is not appropriate for sensitive content like personal or financial information.

I think I need more information

See I am coding a video conferencing software(web based)
So
This will be usefull to me
HTTPS is an extension of the HTTP protocol which encrypts everything that is sent (the "S" is for Secure). HTTP sends everything in cleartext, which is not appropriate for sensitive content like personal or financial information.

Thanks for the reply

hi..
https is basically use for sending the sensitive information over the ineternt
sameera if you want to implement the https protocol you will have create the Secure Socket Layer which is s a technology which, allows web browsers and web servers to communicate over a secured connection.

use the following link
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/ssl-howto.html

it will tell you how to create Secure Socket Layer
