Timer function in JSP

hi..
Want to create a webpage,for conducting a test.
I want to create a control which displays the seconds for each question.
When the time grows,the question second should decrease.
Able to create a second displayer in thread,thats in increasing order.
But want to create in decreasing ..
Would anyone help me for this..

JSP is a server-side technology. It executes on server, and client gets just html kind of stuff. Manipulating countdown in JSP needs requesting server, say every second.

Better idea would be an Applet or JavaScript. You can control the timer on server-side and can use JavaScript just countdown display. May be its just me.

Got some results by googling. You can also google around with "javascript countdown" or "java countdown" for more results.
