I'm really new at java and currently working on a project that needs a Tree view. I have found ways to generate the Tree view but they are all hard coded. Is there a way in which the Tree view is Dynamic wherein the values of each nodes are gathered from the database and is then displayed in a jsp? Another thing I need also the Parent node to be able to be selected by the user. I have'nt found any sample code that enables the Parent node to be selected.i m working in LINUX. I'm really in deep need for assitance. Any help will be highly appreciated.

I do not know if there are any 3rd party tools that meet your needs as stated, but whether you locate one or decide to build it yourself, such a control would need both server-side and client-side mechansisms.

You will need server-side mecahanisms to fetch the info from the database and initially render to the page, and client-side mechanisms to handle the interaction with the control once the page has been loaded. If this interaction requires occasional information from the database, Ajax would be a means to accomplish that without forcing a page refresh.

It isn't JSP, but maybe you can use it somehow:
