Why? TCS is a good company with lot of onsite?

You should be getting more , may be 3.5.

Kirti,

I hope in this market scenario you should get more that 3 l. So u can try and get more. but I think you are looking more on the side of job security so I think in that case you have to compromise to some extent.

Thanks,
Rahul Juneja

Rahul i will be working for Siemens which is not an IT company. i am going to work as an Electrical engg cum software engg. my work will be to design and implement code to run turbines in power plants and lots more. besides, i am straight away being placed in Germany for abt 6months to an year for training cum work. if luck favours i am never to return to India coz their development work for this field is all outside India. so i guess my package is fine. what do u say?

Hi Kriti,

Yeah if they are sending you outside for 6 + months then sure it is Good. all your package will be nullified with that. And if u really feel that the work now you will be doing is more interesting then sure you sould go ahead with that.

TCS IS A BULLSHIT COMPANY!!!

Its the truth.

Even some other companies are in same category and are in Queue.

Thanks,
Rahul Juneja

Kriti,

I got same opening from Siemens, Gurgaon in 2001 though I dont have electrical engg background. At that time my experience was around 2.7 yrs. Interestingly at that time also the pay was more or less same. Eventually I did not join there b.coz of some personal reasons.

IMHO this is a good break(I mean with the experience you have and the work you are going to do). The pay might be less compared to the indian standards now but you will have advantage over others after you go back to India(if your services no longer needed in Germany) b.coz of onsite exp you are going to get and the technologies you are going to work.

Thanks Sridhar and Rahul. I am very happy with the thought that i will be working on C/C++/Java.finally my SCJP has been recognised. my package at TCS was 1.8lacs pa and even after long years it wud not have gone beyond 3lac pa. the work was also clerical type,no designing or optimisations.the work exp at TCS wud have never fetched me a better opportunity in the software industry even after years of experience because i was not working on a technology there. i am very happy for myself.i have to fly latest by first week of October, i have just sufficient time to shop i wish everybody on the earth is as happy and delighted as i am today!!!

Kriti,
If I am not wrong.. i have answered one of ur questions on Tomcat b4. hmmm dont remember though.. About the company.. All the Indian companies.. TCS etc..r good enf.. only if u get a long term onsite chance.. otherwise there are better options in India nowadays..
I am saying this because I have gone through all these..

And about the job... Siemens is a pretty good company and if you are enjoying ur job.. what more can one ask for ?? Few of my friends work in Siemens.. There are pretty good chances for germany.. and u earn lot of money out there. Also if u get to work on C, (which I always wanted but never got ny chance..) its good..

All the best.
