Could anyone give me a clear understanding of the difference between taglib and jsp:usebeans.

Thanks in advance

A taglib directive associates a tag library with a specified prefix, and the useBean standard action creates a scripting variable that references a scoped variable (which may itself be instantiated in the process).

I'm not sure why you have them confused... they don't even remotely do the same thing.

I thought they were functionally same. So, jsp:useBean works with reference to the scoped variables only.

Thanks for your reply.
