I have a Bachelors in CIS, graduated in March 2002. I have no work experience at all. I have three or four college projects that were of a decent size. Lets assume I have a Java Cert. I have used Oracle 8i with PL/SQL programming as well as Unix and Linux. I can also program in VB6 and some VB.Net. I used to program in COBOL if that is helpful, I took one year of COBOL in college.

Projects:
Created a client server program in VB6. Was a chat progam that used encryption. The server had the ability to send messages to everyone at one time, and kick people off. I had a log of port number changes as well as usernames and passwords kept in a file.

I also created the same project minus the encryption in VB.Net, but have lost the program.

I used PL/SQL to create table creation scipts, triggers, functions and procedures, it was pretty elaborate. I demonstrated it to another professor and they asked if I worked.

I have also created a NFS in RedHat Linux, almost created a DNS but ran out of time.

I feel that I have a slim chance of gaining entry level work as a java programmer, I am not wanting to move so that leaves me working in Atlanta,GA. Another problem is that I live about 60 miles North of Atlanta, and would have to move to Atlanta after finding work. I have stated that I would move to Atlanta after obtaining work.
