consuming Atom xml feed in my JSP  RSS feed

ok -- im such a noob. there, that's out of the way.

im doing my first real J2EE site for a client...ive got a great grasp on the java language syntax, and for the most part, how everything server-wise/config-wise goes.

my client has a blog at tgmblog.com their main site (which im doing work on) is at theglobalmarketer.net. in the redesign im working on, i wanted to pull in the top 3 headlines from their blog onto their homepage...but i guess everything i've tried has left me with nothing. ive been messing with some of the JSTL tags, but i keep getting a timeout error when i try to load a remote XML file...does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this seemingly easy task?

Well, the example given in my copy of the JSTL specification is like this:Does your code look anything like that?

yeah, i tried that -- but if the url isn on another server...it times out...like it wont let me do that...
