Is there any means by which i can get the JRE version using some code in a JSP file? I want an alert in my application that will pop up only after checking the JRE version. So, for that i need to first check what version of JRE exists on the client machine on which the application will run. Can anyone help me out with this?

Are you trying to check on the client machine or on the server?
JSP is a server side technology that doesn't rely on the client having a JVM.

I got some solution for the same. Using System.getProperty("java.version"), one can check for the java version on the client machine. But i am interested in the JRE version. Any one can help?

Please do not cross-post the same question in multiple forums. It wastes people's time when multiple redundant conversations take place.
