In my JSP pages the EL is not working .For example ,
if I print temp= ${2*2}, then the value of temp remains as ${2*2} it is not
getting 4.
Any clue ?

Sorry I forgot to mention my Tomcat Version . It is tomcat 5.0.
Actually I am using Eclipse and on the top of it I am using Exadel Studio Plugin. Now Exadel studio provides Tomcat 5.0.x as default web container .
Regards ,
Ayan

Have you followed the direction in the JSP FAQ on this subject?

I have seen the JSPFAQ s .
But I have got a different solution and it is working .Just do one thing
at the start of the page mention
<%@ page isELIgnored="false" %>

This is working !!

But that is unnecessary page goop if your web application is set up correctly.

Why force yourself to remember to put extraneous declarations on each and every page if you don't have to?

You don't seem to understand the difference between web.xml for Servlets 2.3 and 2.4. You should try to understand this first before jumping into conclusions.
