Hi, is it possible to get a HttpSession object from a request, if the request came from a JSP page where the session is set to false?

btw, what is the purpose of setting session = true/false in JSP pages?

another one: when it comes to declaring usebeans in JSP pages, what is the difference in putting class="java.io" and type="java.io"?

I hope I'm not asking too stupid questions :P

I'll tackle the second one.

Neither of these will be of any use to you.
You must list the class or type explicitly with these attributes.
You've only listed the package.

Look at JSP.5.1 in the JSP spec for information about the difference between the class and type attributes in a useBean tag. There is a link to the JSP spec in my signature.
