Hi,
I have a batchfile which takes in some parameters and then after processing stuff, prints out the result on the command window, using System.outs. I would like to display the same output on the JSP instead of the Command prompt. Is it possoble to do it? And if yes, how? I tried using Runtime but it gave me the following error

java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: c:/aruna/src/scm/commandline scm_rpt -projec
t test -generic test_generic -login scm -password scm -report 1 -cr_number test0
00024 -file_detail summary -output_style html error=5

Runtime.exec is the way to do it.

I would suggest getting this to work in a standalone (POJO) Java class first.
Once you get the kinks worked out, then instanciate that class from your JSP (or better, a servlet).

See:
http://www.coderanch.com/t/290633/JSP/java/Passing-values-HTML
for example code that shows how to separate core (model) logic from the webapp that will be calling it.
