How can i read the user details from that XML file using JSP?

It looks like jstl has XML related custom actions. Have a look at them. I have not used them as such but that would be a good place to start.

To what end?

This sounds like something that should happen in a controller prior to the JSP gaining control.

But, if you must do it in the JSP, we'll need to know what you intend to do with the data before we can make any suggestions as to what is the best way to digest the XML.

It might be that the JSTL tags for dealing with XML are best, but Ajax may also be a viable solution.
