What is new in second edition?

Hi guys,

Yes, I know; a simple question that I could easily get by reading Amazon ( I have), however it would be cool to hear direct from you.

I work server side Java (and some client too) by day. I have learned Ruby via your Pickaxe book, and Rails through the first edition, and work on the Ruby quiz to keep the skill going at night.

So what would someone with my background like about the second edition?

Maybe you would like the addition of ajax to the book.

A lot has changed--i fact much of the book has been rewritten. We use migrations, Ajax, mention REST, RJS, look at :through associations, and on and on. I'll let others who have both editions comment on whether the upgrade it worth it.

Getting the 2nd edition is essential. Rails is changing so fast (1.2 just released) that you need the most up to date tutorial and documentation. Get the 2nd edition; don't ask questions.
