I was under the impression that if I did something like:

I would get: $123.34 <- note the dollar sign ($) in front. And the $ would change depending on the locale. Well, testing this, it does not seem to be the case. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Hmmm. I dropped your code into a simple JSP page and it worked fine for me.

Output when I used en_US:

$123.45

Output when I changed the locale to en_GB:

123.45

Tomcat 5.5, JSTL 1.1.12

Strange. I have the same setup. I'll look for any syntax errors in my code. Thanks.
