Hi!

I want to load an exe and present that in my page. I want to know is that possible in any of server technologies like JSP,PHP or .NET. If yes how.

The application currently runs under windows.

Thanks in advance...

No, because not everyone runs on Intel processors or under Windows and the Internet was designed to be OS and hardware neutral.

A technical term for an EXE downloaded and executed by a casual HTTP request is "virus".

Well, sorta.

If the client is running IE, then you're probably good to go. If no, you might still have a shot, but it gets a little more tricky.

Can you explain your problem domain a bit?

I am running a windows app that I want to run in my web page.

lets say i put http://localhost:8080/app/index.jsp

then this app comes up with the application loaded in it stored on c:\app.exe.

I know that a web application isnt designed to behave like that but I have invested a lot of time in my desktop application and i dont want to waste that.

One the application shows up. I will have some links on that windows app that will open up a new url. lets say /newURL.jsp.

Can this be done... I have used jsp here but if it is possible in any other tech please let me know...

Thanks and Regards

Zaheer,

It sounds like you want to wrap your add in a COM\DCOM component, then load it from the webpage.

Does that make sense?

Well, that's a C++\VB question, not a java question: and it's been a really long time since I've coded in MS technologies.

But, as I recall, there's a wizard for doing that sort of thing in Visual Studio.
