I'm developing a site without frames and the site will be reloaded every time a user clicks a link. The layout is partly the same on all pages it's just information in certain grids that changes.

ie. Top is the same, only the selected tab will be highlighted
Menu same, except cart items and link will be highlighted
Bottom same.

Is it best to use JSP includes or taglibs or what? How do you make the JSP maintainable so that if a JSP page changes I don't have to go thru 300 pages and edit them all

Yes I will use axaj for payment and so forth but not for creating dynamic content. It is very important that web spiders can visit all links in a safe manner.

There are several tools for this such as
*Include Directives
*Include Actions
*Taglibs
*Tag files

They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
The time you invest reading about them to understand which is the best tool for the task at hand will be well worth it later on.

Ok thanks! I have never built a big web application berfore but now it needs to be done within 1-2 months.

I look into the alternatives.

Thanks!
