Hello all,

I am in a situation and is really confused, want an opinion.
I have signed a contract of one year with a consullting company, but they are not professional and whatever they promised to me at the beginning are not keeping those promises.Communication is a big pain as no one is ever available. The pay is not good.
Now I have contacted another consulting company ,they seems better than what I am dealing right now. Also they are offering me 20 K more than what I am getting. Also there is no bond etc.
I have a bond of 1 year (25000 I will have to pay them in case i break it) with my current consulting company. 6 months are almost over.
I really want to leave this current consulting firm due to the way they treat me.How serious should I consider the signed contract.I am in USA.
Please give your opinions.
Thanks,
Trupti

You are in USA and you have signed a bond of $25,000? or is it H1-B body shop and bond value is Rs 25,000 with your degree certificates withheld here in India?

I was badly in need of job and has already waited long enough to get a chance. Any way my certificates are safe.bond value is $25000. How seriously should I take it?

From my friends I have heard breaking bond is very common here with consulting companies.NoOne actually does anything. But still am confused.
want few opinions.

Thanks,
Trupti

You're basically suckered. Unless you can take them to court over something and have a judge convict them of breaking the contract you're bound to it (or to pay $25k to break it yourself).

Let this be a lesson to never enter into such agreements...
