Hi

I'm trying out Bear's "Poor man's tag files" for JSP 1.2 - the Taglets, but it doesn't work. I'm trying to run the example he gives on http://radio.javaranch.com/bear/2005/01/26/1106722509000.html.

The jsp fragment:

I call the tag like the following:

Now, instead of displaying "The value of whatever attribute is: Hi there!" It's displaying
"The value of whatever attribute is:
<%= request.getAttribute( ExampleTagletTag.KEY_WHATEVER ) %>

What am I doing wrong here?

It's actually not evaluating ANY tags - in the source, it just outputs the fragment as is, with code and everything! It doesn't evaluate ANY of the tags.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Did you name the "tag file" with .jsp? If so, when it is included by the request dispatcher is should be processed just like a <jsp:include>

There's no smiley down there that indicates an embarrased look

My file was named with a .jspf extension!

Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. You're a genious!

I don't know about that last part, but I'm glad to be helpful.
