The problem that i am facing is related to the jsp page refresh. I am displaying an image at the bottom of my jsp page. I am fetching the image from a particular location.
The problem is that, when i change the image icon at my folder location, its showing the older image on the page. Its only when i press 'refresh' or start the application in a new browser instance,i can see the image getting refreshed properly.
I tried various options available in different forums like setting the page headers to remove cache entries but still its not working correctly.
It is the image itself that is being cached. This is normal browser behavior and is usually not a problem becasue images are seldom updated once a web app is deployed. IS there something special about this image that makes it an issue?
Ya, The change in the image is a very important part of the application. Actually, mine is a game based application where this image is the image related to the sponsor of the game and is displayed at the bottom of the page showing the top 10 scores for that specific game. The sponsor of the game is managed through one other application (i.e. admin module). Admin module is responsible for handling various game specific properties which includes addding, editing and deletion of sponsors also.
So if i edit a particular sponsor image through the admin module, it should get reflected in my game application.Thats why changing of image is critical in my application.
