Hi palas,
Could please read the Naming Policy and change your name accordingly ? (you need both first and last names to be set) Thank you

I'm not sure why it matters to you.

If you're concerned with performance, many containers have the ability to gzip the output which would effectively remove extra whitespace during the tcp/ip transmission.

Containers that use the Jasper JSP compiler, can take advantage of the 'trimSpaces' setting that asks the compiler not to add extra whitespace around JSP action tags. This won't remove any whitespace that you've entered but it cuts down on the ones created by the compiler.

You don't.
Your container either uses Jasper as it's JSP compiler, or it doesn't.
I don't know of any containers that allow you to plug a different JSP compiler in.

Which container are you using?
