Anyone know of a JSP book thats similar to the thin Developer Notebooks series books (like Java 5.0 Tiger: A Developer's Notebook) which covers examples of that which is new between pre-EL days and now?

Does it have the Unified EL in the context of JSPs in there too?

No book? How about some great online tutorial/try-this-example articles?

I see the following which seems oriented towards JSF and not try-this oriented it seems.
Unified Expression Language for JSP and JSF
http://today.java.net/pub/a/today/2006/03/07/unified-jsp-jsf-expression-language.html
This mentions: postback as well as "apply request values," "process validations," and "update model" phases This sounds potentially JSF-ish.

I think the work which I will be doing will be struts 2 oriented instead of JSF. So, I am looking for something which keeps JSF out of it.

Note: Developers Notebooks are here: http://www.oreilly.com/store/series/notebooks.csp

Thanks.
Michael

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much out there that focuses on using JSP post-2.0.

There are plenty of JSP books that cover JSP 2.0, but I have to see one that focuses on the best way to actually use JSP in its new form.

The reaction I tend to get when I propose such a book to a publisher is that "everything that needs to be written about JSP has already been written".

How wrong they are.

And yes, anything that talks about the "Unified EL" is talking about the JSP 2.1 additions made to accomodate JSF.
