I understand, if there is no dynamic content in web page, you should just name it html file. But do people some times name all static/ semi static files .jsp just for sake of consistency? Is there any overhead or is it bad practice to name static files with jsp extension?

If you name the file .jsp it will get translated and a servlet generated in order to send the template text to the client upon request. Seems like a lot of overhead just for the sake of "conistency", don't you think?

If Don't have any dynamic contents Please don't go for JSP.
Static contents go for HTML.
It Reduces burdon on server on first request.
