How can I keep .tag-files from accessing the request? I only want to allow the .tag-file access to parameters given to it as input attributes.

You mean that you want the attributes of a tag file be, let's say, attributes that were submitted by an HTML form ?

If yes, then make your tag file accept runtime expression values then simply make the JSP that uses the tag file the target of submit button in your HTML page, and inside your tag file say:

I hope that this helps ...

Best of luck ...

That's a really odd question. If you don't want to access the request in a tag file, nothing is forcing you to do so. If you're trying to prevent your team from doing so as a matter of convention, why?

So there are now way of preventing access to request?

My motivations of doing this is not relevant to the topic, so please don't bother to comment on that.

Thanks!
