Hello,

I think for pagination at the very basic will include how to retrieve partial information, say if you want to navigate a list of data from database. In this case you'll need to know the information of what page number to be displayed and how many of record will be retrieved.

With this information you then can do a select for a specific rows of data, in MySQL database you can do it with a limit query. If you are using a JDBC CachedRowSet you can add the limit of the returned size.

There some JSP tags also available out there that offers this functionality such as the DisplayTag.

The JDBC side of this is explored in PaginationOrPaging.
