I am distributing a web application in a WAR file. My users could be deploying this in any container. Is there a way to tell the containers to compile all of the JSP's as soon as the web application is started? Maybe via a configuration in the deployment descriptor?

I know this topic has been discussed here but most of the information I found seemed to be pretty old. It seems that this was impossible a few years ago but maybe something has happened since then?

Benjamin,
This is an old link, but I don't think the method has changed since. There are container specific ways to pre-compile everything without listing all the JSPs. Which doesn't help you. The only real alternative I know of is to loop through your whole list of JSPs.

Yeah, seems like there is no easy way to do this. Thank you.
