I was recently contacted by a recruiter for an out of state position. I told the recruiter that I am looking for employment within my state only. The recruiter then responded by asking if I am interested to work remotely. What does this exactly mean? Does it mean that I work from home?

Thanks,

You are right. It may involve visiting the customer once in a while though. It could be once a month, you need to check with the recruited about that.

Most likely you will be expected to deliver on a specific schedule and communicated through phone&email. So, communication is a key in remote jobs.

Having worked at home before, there are two very annoying drawbacks. First, it is very easy to get distracted. Second, you tend to crave human interaction after a while. Unfortunately, they also tend to magnify each other, the more you crave interaction, the easily you can get distracted.

I would not recommend working at home, unless you know you are disciplined enough to do it.

Working remotely is cool and dont mind to try it.

Anyway you are not working alone, you are always connected
and you always have your PCs with you.
