Hi "Lord Lapakudass",
Your display name is a fake one.
Please change your display name according to our simple naming policy.
Thanks in advance.

There are no such names in India. "Lord" is the title confirmed by Queen of England ? (not sure) I never read anywhere that you have been confirmed the title.

Friends!let me come to the point.I will be completing my M.tech in June..Right now I am doing my internship in a product company in Bangalore. After june i could get an offer from the same company with a pay package of around 4.2 lakhs/annum.But there are no onsite opportunities in the company.
I am a fresher with no experience. My main dilemma is should i start my career with a product company r should i move to services company offering a lower package with on-site opportunities..
Any idea about the pay package for M.Techs in service Cos..?What do you people suggest??Please do reply..

4.2 L is lot of money for a fresher.
Coming to your questions, I would "strongly" suggest you to join a Services company where could travel and make more money than joining a prod. co which would pay some thousand more.

4.2L is very good sal for a fresher. For a fresher it doesnt matter much whether you are in product or service based company. Many cases you may not get onsite opp for 2 years. So if it is good company and if you are happy with that company dont hesitate to join. You can change the company after working 2 to 3 years.

Good Luck

Hi Lapakudass (Sivam Arun)
Thanks but this again does not our naming rules.

It is possible that you are uncomfortable about using your real name on the web. This happens. In that case, feel free to display a fictitious name. Just make it look like it could be real - like "Al Swensen", "Roberta Cheeny", "Anand Singh" or "Xiao Wu". And if you do use a fictitious name, don't announce that it's fictitious. We want to encourage use of real names as much as possible here, so please don't undermine that goal.

Obviously fictitious names may be locked out.

So please change your display name. Thanks for your understanding.

Verizon is good company. Pay will be good. Work culture is ok, but routine work. They work in telecom products. It is located in Tidel park and also they have their own building in Guindy

Veritas/PSPL do pay 4.8L/p.a for M. Tech freshers from IITs, both not great for onsite opportunities.

Wipro/Infy may pay around 3.6 to 4.2 L for M.Tech fresher and send onsite as well. Try Geometric/ EDS otherwise, they all should pay 4L+ for an IITan.

Guys, there's big diff between normal fresher and an IITan. I guess it will require aroun 4 yrs of exp toget 4.8L for another person.

I my doing my M.Tech in IIIT-Bangalore..and i am currently doing my internship in i2 technologies.I do have the option to sit again for campus placements again by June..But most probably the companies which would be coming for placements will be predominately product companies..so i just want to get details about other companies so that i can try for off campus jobs..
