Why Do I need to set 'isELIgnored = false' in directive?  RSS feed

Friends, I know isELIgnored is false by default but it's not working with me.Putting it on the page does not make any difference.
I have to set it false in the directive, why? ,I don't know.
when I do not set it false ,it prints ${subTitle} as it is on the browser. LOL
The main problem comes when I have to create custom tags because we all know
tag file does not support EL directive.

please clarify this.

Value for the 'isELIngnored' is false only from Servlet 2.4. I believe you are using Servlet 2.3 DTD in your web.xml. Change it to '2_4' then it will take false as default value.

Oh I see, so what's the alternative to display El on tag file.
