When I insert encode/decode script in jsp, I get jsp exception, everytime pointing at diffrent line. After removing this script everything works as expe cted. But I really want to use this Java script but couldnt get through this weird exception in jsp.

My javascript is

Stack trace is

I am not sure if this causes because of jsp page econding. (page encoding is ISO-8859-1, I tried utf-8 as well).

I tried invoking JS script in html. It works fine.

Can anyone help find the solution please?

The error message from JSP is not clear. It is always the case with JSP.

If there is a problem with javascript you should not get an issue with JSP.

How do you include the Javascript function into JSP?

Both declaration and call?

Try to narrow down the issue.
First step is to use a simple javascript function probably just with only an alert statement. This will make sure your includes and calls are OK.

If that is working fine then move onto expanding the function.
