You really shouldn't be mixing the EL with scriptlets. Use one or the other. They aren't meant to be mixed, and doing so will just create a big old mess.

Using EL and trying to get this goal.. i cannot find another way than using scriplets also (I know it is a mess..)
Maybe separating in several pages scriplet code and EL code?
