I have been in the IT for 7 years with last 5 years designing and developing web-based software in Java and J2EE. I have been quite worried about my future as a programmer since I could not see myself clearly in the software profession. I decided to explore other options for a change in career.

I am considering pursuing a degree in Actuary to become an Actuary oneday. I would like to seek you guys opinion on other career options that I can consider.

Regards
Saliya

Hi...
Hey you can try DataWareHousing and Data Mining...isn't that also a good option....
Hey by the way I am working in Configuration Management using Telelogic's tools...If I need a career change in development or testing domains..after say an year or a year and a half...is it possible with no prior experience that I can do it there...

Hi Saliya,
If you like medical field, lot's of opportunitites there! If you like Nurse do LVN (one year) and RN (two years). USA specially CA have next 8 years job opening for Nurses. They pay pretty good nowadays.

Good Luck!
