I've a search page where I enter an pc name. When I press submit, the page either goes to a retry page or throws out my SQL query

All works fine and presents the detail on the JSP.

The page then is displayed gathering from the database with the statement executed

Here is the catch. When I click the submit button, I want to capture the info rs,getString that is displayed and pass the info to the next page to carry out a

however, I cannot pass this request.getParameter("") arguement as I've tried this and i get the null argument

Any help appreciated on how I can pass this value over so that its accepted?

I've tried going from the first page and directly going to the next page passing the value and it deletes and works fine; however its when I try to search the database, display the entry and then try to delete the entry is when I come across errors.

Thanks in advance

Like any other data that needs to get passed to a page, you'll either need to pass it as query parameter on the URL (if a GET) or as a form field (if a POST).

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
