jsp :- server side programming language.

javascript: client side language ( But I have read somewhere it can also be used at server side)

jsp: it is a conbination of html, java, javascript, xml
javascript: It has nothing to do with java.Event driven languge. Generally used for client side validtions.

Correct me If I am wrong somewhere

Please be sure to take the time to compose descriptive subjects for your posts; read this for more information.

Using a title of "JSP question" in a forum completely dedicated to questions on JSP isn't very helpful.

Please go back and change your post to add a more meaningful subject by clicking the .

JSP is really none of that. JSP is a server-side templating language used to format dynamic content. Please read this article to understand what JSP really is.

The HTML and JavaScript that are in a JSP page are nothing more than template text and are meaningless to JSP technology.

javascript: It has nothing to do with java.Event driven languge. Generally used for client side validtions.
Client-side validation is just one very tiny portion of what JavaScript is used for.

And
JSP is a templating technology
taken directly from the journal article.

Looks like Bear got a typo in the above post

Yes, "languge" is indeed a poor word to use. "technology", "system" or "mechanism" work better.
