We have drawing files(PDF) located on our network server which can serve as HTTP. I have been asked to create an external web site that vendors can log onto, then based on a control list, view particular drawings. Can someone tell me how to go about making this happen?

Steve,
It sounds like the first thing to do is figure out how to control security. It could be a file mapping user id to file name or a database table. (The database option is more common.)

Then you can have a servlet that accepts logins and another that sees if a user has permission to download a selected file.
