Problem with connection to oracle from servlets

I have following problems
1.I am having problem in connecting to oracle 8i from servlets
using dsn.
2.we are using appache webserver
3.I would like to know if there are any settings to be made to the web server
4.we are using oracle JDBC driver

Can you access the database from the same machine outside your servlet?
You need to have either Oracle server or at the very least Oracle client installed on the machine is you do not want to use the thin driver.
Also, your JDBC driver must be version 8.1.6 or higher, as older drivers are not supported by Java2. packages are Classes12.zip and Classes12_01.zip (maybe 12_0x or 13 out now, do not use 111 which is 8.1.5).
