How important is it to be certified SCJD 1.4 for employers?

i realize its not that important, but im going to try and get it anyway, because right now, my resume is empty, i have to have something to put on it...plus i want to do it for myself as well..by studying for the scjp i hope to learn more about the language.

I'm assuming that if you're going for the SCJD you've already got your SCJP.

If so, I'd forget about the SCJD and start studying for the architect exam instead.

Why? Because almost everyone I work with is a "developer" and the industry cares very little for the differences between a "developer" and a "programmer". Actually, more and more actual developer jobs are now being called designers, program analysts, etc.

Someone MIGHT care if you have certification at the basic level. It is unlikely to get you a job, but could be a deciding factor between you and another candidate. I have never heard of anyone requiring or even caring about SCJD.

It is useless. SCWCD and SCBCD are more likely to be required.
