hello Everybody I yesterday tried to install and run the JDBC
however it is not working -Please try to help me by finding the flaw in my working,If you please,I will be greatful.
I am having the CD provided with the corejava part 2 through which I installed the Pointbas and now I am having the Pointbas console 2.2.8r in front of me. the line at teh top of it says jdbc ointbase:COREJAVA
the second thing I have is a Commandercorejava.bat file which when run makes available the SQL>
( I have not made any alterations in my autoexec file.BTW I am using windows as OS and P2 as processor-anyway that must not affect anything )
HOW I TRIED TO RUN IT -
I opened the Pointbas console
and
I opened the SQL > pompt
and I opened a DOS window
now in the dos window I went to the directory which contained the examples of the corejavabook vol 2 issued a javac command over it.
in SQL> I entered
CREATE TABLE Publishers(Publisher.....)
INSERT INTO Publishers VALUES('sdfsdf.......)
now at the dos prompt I trid to run the java MakeDB Books
but the output it is giving is
SQL Exception :
SQLState:08001
Message:No suitable Driver
Vendor:0

I have Microsoft Office and jdk 1.2
can someone please help me configue the JDBC ODBC bridge.
THannks
sunil

Start->Settings->Control Panel->ODBC Data Sources->Add->Microsoft Access Driver->Finish->Enter any name and description->Select->Select a database->OK->OK->OK
You are now done. The name you will use in the JDBC-ODBC driver will be the name you specified above.
