Andrew, in fact, it does. Chapter 4, Data Modeling, covers database design and data modeling; chapter 5, Database Concepts and Techniques, covers the fundamentals of relatonal databases; and, finally, chapter 10, Java and the ODMG 3.0 Specification, talks about object databases.
Sounds like a sweet book! I'm pretty with it as far as JDBC goes as an interface to a SQL server, but I could use a lot of polish on the design side. If you don't mind me asking, Bjarki Holm, what is your background? where did you get your experience, etc?
