I have one major problem in accessing the data from excel through JDBC -ODBC bridge. Even if there is data in the Excel cell, I sometimes retrieves NULL in the java code. Why this might be happening can anybody tell me??
please reply ASAP.

Null will be returned if the datatype do not match. For instance when the table was created the field would have been declared as int, but you would somehow entered string values in the xl sheet. In such a case you cannot even append records to the table.

See, basic thing is, there is no problem in the code, as it works fine, but sometimes behaves absurdly. IT reads the cells and sometimes it doesnt. So what might b the reason?

Did you resolve this issue-I have an identical problem, and would like to know if/how you resolved it. I have data in a cell with a zero starting the number, and it doesn't seem to like it-it returns a null.
