Oracle 8i installation

Hi:
I was trying to install Oracle 8i on my computer (Window ME), I got a error message, saying "..error in access staging area, please make sure the route is correct...". Actually, all the route is using default.
I was wondering any one here has done this before. What is wrong with my installation?

Are you sure that Oracle 8i can be installed on ME? I thought only the clients work on ME/98/95.

Don,
If you're installing Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition you won't be successful on winME .. try that on a win2000 or winNT installation. Better Yet if you can have Solaris8 platform it will run even better and be more stable.

That is a 8i personal edition. The one I downloaded is supposed to work on Win98. So I assume it should also work on Win ME.
