I was working abroad for 5 yrs. I had to come back to India suddenly for some problem and left with no job. I took the first job offer which came into my way . I hadnt done my homework of salary negotiation then , so end up asking less salary. 3 months down the line I found all my colleagues with my experience but fewer competencies are getting more than me. If I start searching for new job I will get that with 40% increment.
My question is should I leave this job after completing 6 months or continue for next 1 yr. If I choose first option, I will have bad track record of leaving job very soon. If I continue I have to do with complaint all the time.
Please give me suggestion about my next course of action.

I suggest you talk with your Manager or HR explain him the situation. Wait for some time for resulution. If you find no action then you can think about the alternatives. Its worked for me in my previous organization, but it took around 6 months time

If salary is more than sufficient to survive, you can stay there for some period, may be a year.Employers become little suspicious if they see that you worked only for three months at one employer.IMO,one should not quit current employer only because of increment in salary.

Rahul,

IMHO, I would say if you really have a stable resume in past, I mean showing experience of around 2 years or maybe 1.5 years in all the past 5 years then it is fine and you can take a switch if your present company HR doesnot take any action when you tell ask him about the salary.

But yeah if in past also you have left some company in less then 1 year and i mean your resume presents you to be a bit unstable guy. then surely do wait for atleast one year and then only take a switch.

Cheers,
Rahul

My past job duration is something like this

1st company 3 yrs 1month
2nd ,,- 1 yr
3rd - 10 months
4th- 1 yr 4 month
5th-present 3 month
