I am developing a Java Servlet which needs to connect to an Oracle database. I have installed Oracle's classes12.zip and can connect to the database with no problems using the following connect string:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver")
dbConn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc racle:thin:@fully_qualified_domain_name ort:db_Name","userName","password");
However, I would like to use the sqlnet.ora file on the local server. I have searched on JavaRanch and on Oracle (techNet) but can find no examples or information. I assumed this would be a common way to connect to an Oracle database, has anyone got an example they could post. SQL net (8.1.6) is installed on the server.
Regards.
