Hi
I am trying to make a JDBC connection using various bits of generically disseminated test code: TestJDBC, JDBCCheckup and so on. But no matter how I adjust my PATH/CLASSPATH I've been unable to run them once they've compiled, without getting the dreaded NoClassDefFound error naming the class itself as unfound. I'm running Oracle 8i, JDK 1.3 (with classpath pointer to classes12.zip) on Solaris.
Do these classes perhaps have to be loaded into the database before running them? None of the tutorials mention this step ...
Thanks
Leslie

in your path you should have(or at least I have):
C:\JDK1.3.0_02\BIN --> which is a path to my jdk1.3SE classes
in my classpath I have:
C:\JDK1.3.0_02\bin
C:\java --> which is the path to the java classes I have written
C:\admin\java\classes12.zip --> the path to the oracle zip files. That's it, that's all I have(except unrelated junk). I write, compile, and run all my code from C:\java.

pl check ur path and classpath
otherwise reinstall oracle database again
it will automatically set the classpath and path

Thanks ... the weird thing is I can't run the classes even in java/bin, which leads me to believe it's not a classpath problem. And it looks like $JAVA_HOME is no longer required with JDK 1.3

I had the same problem - try including a . in your classpath.
set classpath=.;(whatever other packages you want to include)
