I just spotted this:
I'd like to offer the community an opportunity to download a complimentary electronic version of my best-selling book, "Mastering Enterprise JavaBeans and the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition". You can download this book from http://www.TheServerSide.com.

Yea, I downloaded it about three days ago. I dont know if there is a way to get it without registering, but I had to register first and log in with my new identity, and got it. The registration is free and fast anyway, I did it just to get the book.

I downloaded this book .I am just going thru the 5th chapter.
Of the 3 books I had on EJB , I feel this is the best book.
I even informed about this book to my friends.
They are also feeling that this is a must for a beginner .
Thanks Paul Wheaton for suggesting this book.

Go to the site www.TheServerSide.com and click on Resources to download free copy of the book by Ed Roman. Excellent Book but you cannot print it.

If you want it in print, you can buy it. It is well worth the money (I just like paper...).
The new edition of the O'Reilly book is also good, if maybe a bit brief in some areas. I use the two together (with the O'Reilly book serving as a guide to the EJB 1.1 items, which are somewhat lacking in the other one).

Help! When I try to open the downloaded/unzipped file in Acrobat Exchange 3.0 on a Windows NT machine, I get the following errors:
Invalid ColorSpace. When I click okay, pages of the book are blacked out???
I've never had this problem with any other pdf files. Thanks, Barbara

Barbara, I had the same problem with Acrobat 3.0. I simply upgraded to Acrobat 4.0 and then the pages are rendered as intended without that invalid color space error.

I have downloaded the book. It's very good, specialy for the EJB Beginers since it contains all the basics & some interesting examples to work on.

So there I was, trapped in the jungle. And at the last minute, I was saved by this tiny ad:
