Hi All
I am an engg graduate 2005 pass out, I was recruited by Quark through campus placements in 2004 with 1 yr job offer plus 6 months training. I have done my 6 months industrial training at Quark, Mohali from jan05 - june05.
Couple of months back quark did a massive layoff and fired all the new joinees(300-400) including me .We were told that we can only stay for training period.Within a week 20% of the ppl were retained and given their job offers back including me.During the process i got through Perot Systems ,Noida and i am resident of noida.
I really need advise here as to whether joining perot would be the right decision and leaving Quark because the feedback i have proves Quark is better brand name but i feel its highly instable.I have my joining date around the corner please send me your advice ASAP.

Thanks

What you feel about Quark is true. It shows quite instablity over management decsions and company situation. Atleast in India its not time for layoffs. If you stay in the Quarek, in future also you may start worrying about layoffs which makes you not to put your best efforts to complete your job. When you feel your job is secured and happy about job you do the best at work otherwise you cant concentrate much on work.

I dont feel Quark is branded company than Perot. I feel Perot also having very good value. Many people in India knows as HCL Perot systems fro which Perot systems buy all the stake from HCL and become own company. So I suggest to go with Perot.

I have worked at Quark,Mohali. The work enviorenment is not the best and there is always be instability.

I havent worked in Perot but know some people who work there.Well, frankly its not a great place either but given your choices, Perot is undoubtedly better. No second thoughts mate.

Even, I will go with these guys and suggest perot is better then Quark. but still if u want to decide on certain things as to go for a service based or product based company. then u can change ur decision accordingly but still i would say in these two i would say perot is the better option to go with.

cheer,
Rahul

Hi All

Thanks for your replies ....my bent of mind is also towards joining perot but i have certain concerns.
1.I have invested 6 months here and i am recognised in my workplace the company also plans to send me onsite for few weeks in a month or so.
2.I am basically into QE department the scope of testing from Quark opens up new avenues like joining Adobe in future after a yr work ex.
3.The company wont give me NOC and i have signed a 1 lakh bond with the company for which i may have to face legal implications.
4.I realy dont have any idea what work would i get after joining perot and how the work culture would be i am gettting a .2 lakh lesser package at perot and i mainly wish to join it since i am pretty homesick.
Please advice me

Thanks

Well you did not post all the points before and on reading these...
1. Going onsite will not make it a stable job,so basically makes no difference.
2.You have spent 6 months, probably it makes sense to hang in there and get atleast 1 years experience.
3.You can rest assured that if you break their bond you will not get releaving certificate or work ex. certificate.
4.If you are homesick , you might drop the idea of going onsite as well.

Seems that you are in a strange situation. If I were you, I would stay there for a year,so as to avoid the legal implications and get atleast a years work ex before looking around..
-Good Luck.

Mehr, in your original post you mentioned: "Couple of months back quark did a massive layoff and fired all the new joinees(300-400) including me."

What is this including me and still you are in Quark?

If you are in Quark... wait for completing your bond period and learn few good things there. (you can ask Nidhi Hans the few good things OR probably you yourself may know thme by now)

If you are not in Quark do you have any other choice than Perot?
