I have created a web application which uses MindSpeed database to store data. I have added ordbjava.jar of the database(jdbc related jar)to the lib directory under AppServer . I have also added it in the application class path .But it still gives an error in my servlet where connection is established with the database saying that cannot find class "ordbjava.jdbc.ordbDriver" .

Hi,
Can you specify which appServer are you using it may be possible that you would require to append the jar file in the class path of the appserver rather than tghe web application.
Description of the appserver would be helpful.
If you are niot sure about that an easy way is there.
Extract the jar file into the webapplication's "servlets" directory.
This may also solve your problem.
regards

"shrutia",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp .
We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in again with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.
Dave.
